According to Nicole, "Looking for stylists or beauticians is one of the hardest things in the business world, because finding someone who has the personality and ability to get the job done can sometimes be a huge task."

Durrant adds, "The main criteria I look for when recruiting an esthetician are a positive attitude and passion, as well as honesty, kindness, and professionalism."

Experience

Different candidates will have different levels of experience - some may be recent college graduates, while others may have worked in salons for years. The level of experience you want your therapists to have is up to you.

Highly experienced therapists can bring skills you don't have to the table, while inexperienced therapists can be trained to do your treatments exactly how you prefer.

Fox explains that she's looking for "at least three years of salon experience," as she's not a trained therapist herself. “But no matter what difficult situation I was in, I'd rather be an employee than have a bad employee.
