It works perfectly and the technique looks excellent. My only complaint is with the aesthetics, as the bottom bezel doesn't "melt" into the rest as well as I'd prefer. But this is secondary to reliability and performance.

So far very satisfied. I took a class and it worked. I'm going to take it on a break later this week to practice a bit and see if it gets any closer to being included in my travel routines magazine.

I have the S&W Shield Plus. 13. Very rigid chargers. Very difficult to get the 13 rnds. I got magguts two rnd extension and problem solved. Now you can easily load 15+1. The icing on the cake: the barely noticeable little finger extension makes the Shield fit my grip perfectly. Originally purchased to test. So satisfied that I ordered 2 more for my spare magazines. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Installation was easy following the instructions and the components fit well. This makes Shield Plus a true CCW competitor. It worked perfectly in two different magazines and 300 rounds. It still works like an M&P just with a bit more capacity. This 15+1 form factor is now exactly what it needs to be. Well done!

Great product, easy to install, looks great, good texture/feel and doesn't add as much to the magazine as other brand name magazine extensions and I'm happy it's finally out. Just a few weeks before WA state banned "high capacity" chargers, I got lucky. I look forward to the release of this product. My only complaint and the reason I didn't give it a 5 is the +2 in the magazine 13 rounds = 15 rounds it's a little hard to stack the slide in the chamber one round but it worked without a problem 👍 I forgot to load a cartridge in the chamber and then insert the 15-round magazine to see if it works. But I didn't have any problems, other than getting the slide into the chamber on the first turn was a bit difficult. Hopefully it will loosen up with time of use and fully charged storage. I only got about 100 rounds in both magazines... I'll be ordering more today before the magazine ban goes into effect on my state taxes in a few weeks.

Very complicated installation, but once it works as advertised. I really wish the spring and follower would mate/connect more easily for easier installation.
This was much more difficult to install than the 10 -> 13 round kit, but since there is no other way to get 15 rounds in the same space, I am very happy with the result.

Springfield Plus Shield. 13 magazines. Maggut's pen settled in easily and he willingly accepted 15 rounds. I haven't tested it, but he has plenty of spring pressure and everything loaded up with no problem. I hope it works well.

I can't say enough great things about this kit. You get an improved spring and added capacity without much longer to magazine end. It could be 1/4 inch longer, but that's about it. Still very concealable and you get two more rounds.
This one was a bit trickier to install, if I had three hands it might have been easier. In general, it's still pretty easy.

Feed reliably! Hiked 2k so far and fed the whole time. One complaint I found was a bullet that was left upside down after the magazine landed on concrete, causing the magazine to jam. I had to remove the motherboard to fix the stuck roundness. I tried to pry around the round to free it, but there were no dice. However, there was never a malfunction during filming. I would recommend.

I give it a 4 because the product itself is great. On my p365 I'd give it an 8/10, but I'm less impressed with the lady sign. I still can't mess around with two extra rounds, love it, but going with the 14 mag with that extension piece is a bit finicky and it lengthened the mag just a hair more than we expected. But it is what it is, still a great product and I highly recommend it.

I've been waiting a long time for these to come out. When they arrived I put them on and went to the shooting range. Installation was very easy. There are no problems with proper eating and cycling. They easily hold the full 15 rounds and are a bit less firm than the factory 13-round spring and magnetic base. Several hundred laps so far. I am going to buy a few more and feel safe carrying them with me every day.

Once I learned how to compress the spring it was a breeze to assemble. I haven't fired the gun yet to make sure the power is good, but I've loaded it, loaded it every 15 shots, and I'll act it with my fingers, and it feels just as powerful at the beginning as it did at the beginning and end.

FAQs
Does the M&P Shield and Shield 2.0 use the same magazine? ›
The same magazines from the original M&P will work in the 2.0.
What's the difference between an M&P Shield and an M&P Shield Plus? ›With that being said, the Shield Plus has upped the capacity from 7 and 8 round magazines to 10 and 13 round magazines. With one in the chamber, the extended magazine in the Shield Plus doubles the capacity of the original and 2.0 Shield platforms.
Do they make extended magazines for the Shield Plus? ›Available now! Order or Pick up your official Smith & Wesson factory M&P Shield Plus Extended Magazine. The M&P Shield Plus Extended Magazine holds a total of 13-Round (9mm) and features a textured extended base for improved finger grip.
Will a shield plus magazine fit in a shield? ›Aftermarket M&P Shield Plus Review
However, accessories such as magazine extensions and whatnot are unavailable expect they will be along soon. Unfortunately, the standard Shield magazine accessories will not fit on the Plus model.
The Bottom Line
The Smith & Wesson M&P M2. 0 is a full-size, striker-fired, steel and polymer gun with a 17+1 capacity. During testing, I found it to be reliable and extremely accurate. The ergonomics are very well done on this gun with four backstrap options.
The Hellcat has an aggressive grip texture, which helped in the snowy conditions, but did not impress the author. The Shield Plus fits nicely in hand and has a medium grip texture. Even with extra large hands, the pinky fit without going past the magazine.
Is it okay to dry fire a Smith & Wesson Shield Plus? ›Can I dry fire my S&W handgun? Q: Can I dry fire my Smith & Wesson? A: Yes, except for the . 22 caliber pistols which includes models 22A, 22S, 422, 2206, 2214, 2213 and 41.
Can you shoot +P in a S&W shield? ›Nowhere on the Shield Plus is it marked for use with +P loads, and the only indication that +P loads are acceptable is found in the manual, in which S&W merely mentions that such rounds will increase wear on firearm components. The company does explicitly state, however, that +P+ loads are not to be fired in this gun.
Is M&P as good as Glock? ›The rear serrations, on the other hand, are much better than the Glock. The serrations are just better designed. They have a more aggressive feel to them. So if you only plan on manipulating the gun using the rear of the slide, then the Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 is going to be better than the Glock.
Is the shield mag release reversible? ›The Smith & Wesson® M&P®9 SHIELD™ EZ® M2. 0™ comes with ambidextrous safeties and the mag release is reversible.
What magazines are compatible with M&P Shield? ›
ETS 12 round (9mm) mag fits S&W Shield.
What magazine are no longer in print? ›Some other publications recently no longer in print include: O magazine, Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Popular Science, Shape, Air & Space Smithsonian, and ARTnews. Find articles from popular magazines and scholarly journals online using the library's databases and online resources, including: Consumer Reports.
How tall is a S&W Shield Plus with 13 round magazine? ›Built around a 13-round 9mm magazine, the Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield Plus maintains a small footprint, measuring 6.1” long, 4.6” tall and 1.1” wide (0.94” when excluding the controls), weighing 17.9 oz. with a 3.1” barrel.
Is M&P Shield good for concealed carry? ›The M&P Shield 2.0 is easy to conceal carry every day, so you should make sure you choose the kind of holster that's equal to it. You'll need a holster that has a custom fit and customizable retention so that you never have to worry about retaining your gun.
How accurate is Shield Plus? ›The 9 Shield Plus provided decent accuracy for its size, even with the shorter sight radius. The model I tested had standard, 3-dot white sights. The trigger was a good striker-fired model, with a couple of millimeters travel before a wall, which broke at around 4 pounds on my Lyman digital gauge.
Is M&P 2.0 better than Shield? ›The Smith and Wesson shield is going to be better if you want a smaller carry gun, but in every other aspect, the Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 compact is a better gun.
Which is better Glock 43 or M&P Shield? ›When it comes to concealment, the 43 is smaller and better for things like pocket carry. Or carrying with a tucked-in shirt. The Smith and Wesson M&P Shield can definitely do both those things. But the 43 is going to give you a wider error of margin when it comes to concealment.
How much does a M&P 2.0 metal cost? ›The MSRP for the new S&W M&P9 M2. 0 METAL pistol is $899.
Is the M&P Shield accurate? ›The M&P Shield is the exception – it is capable of outstanding accuracy. I love little guns that shoot like big guns, and the Shield is certainly one of those. I can fairly easily keep a full magazine on an 8” circle at 25 yards with the Shield.
What's better Glock or Hellcat? ›The Hellcat is smaller, and more feature-filled, and packs 11 rounds. The Glock 43 packs six rounds, and that's it. The Glock 43 comes with two six-round magazines, and the Hellcat comes with an 11 and 13 round magazine. This gives the Hellcat nearly 50% more ammo in a flush-fitting magazine.
Is the Hellcat Pro better than the Hellcat? ›
The primary performance-related difference between the standard Hellcat and the Pro version is the magazine capacity. The standard Hellcat comes with either a flush-fit 11-round magazine or a 13-round extended magazine, whereas the Pro only accepts the flush-fit 15-round magazine designed for it.
Is it OK to dry fire a Smith and Wesson M & P? ›It is OK to dry fire any modern S&W revolver except for 22LR or 22 Mag chambered models. With a 22 since it is a rim fire, the firing pin can hit the back of the cylinder and damage the firing pin. Dry fire practice is a great way to improve your trigger control. What makes a Smith and Wesson revolver so reliable?
How many times can you dry fire a pistol? ›A modern gun can withstand thousands of instances of dry fire. But why take that chance? Firearms were designed to be fired with a round in the chamber, so every time you dry fire you are taking a risk - even though it's a small one.
Should you dry fire a gun before storage? ›Don't dry fire. The rim of the cartridge contains the primer material. The hammer or firing pin has a ridge which compresses the rim in a small spot to ignite the primer.
Is +P better for self defense? ›+P Ammo for Self Defense
This is why many people prefer keeping +P ammo for self-defense: It's potentially capable of neutralizing a threat more quickly. People who carry short-barreled revolvers are also likely to keep them loaded with +P ammo.
So Is +P Ammo Safe To Shoot
It is well within the tolerances of modern firearms and certainly within the pressure level created by proof loads which modern guns are tested with. Therefore, it's "safe."
The additional velocity in +P self defense handgun ammo can help bullets expand and this sometimes means a slightly larger wound/crush cavity. Sometimes the additional expansion causes the bullet to deform or flower-out with a larger frontal diameter and in turn the bullet does not penetrate as deep.
What gun is closest to a Glock? ›- Sig Sauer P365XL.
- Glock 19 Gen 5.
- Here a Glock, there a Glock…
- The CZ P10C.
- Capacity matters. The CZ P10C OR has a 15 +1 capacity and ships with two mags.
- Walther PDP.
- Walther PDP Grip with pinky extension.
- P320-M17.
"The Glock 19 is one of the most accurate and reliable handguns available.” The Glock 19 is likely the most popular 9mm handgun of all time—and with good reason. The 19 pioneered the compact size category, but it still comes standard with 15-round mags (it can also accept 17 to 33-round mags).
What is the most popular Smith and Wesson pistol? ›S&W M&P Shield M2. 0: The Most Popular Smith & Wesson 9mm For CCW. The S&W M&P Shield 9mm M2.
Will MP shield fire if dropped? ›
DESCRIPTION OF THE HAZARD: Smith & Wesson has identified a condition where the trigger bar pin could damage the lower trigger in certain M&P Shields in a way that may affect the functionality of the drop safety feature of the firearm, potentially allowing the pistol to discharge if it is dropped.
Can you use OEM mags with shield arms mag release? ›Our steel mag catch is required to work with the Shield Arms S15 magazine. Using our steel mag catch with plastic OEM magazines can cause increased wear on plastic mags and OEM mags may not drop free. We do not recommend using our steel mag catch with plastic OEM mags.
What is the mag catch? ›The magazine catch holds the magazine in the pistol. Typically, this also includes a button or lever that, when pressed, will release the magazine from the pistol. Revolvers have an analogous cylinder latch that will allow the cylinder to be opened.
How many magazines does the M&P Shield Plus come with? ›Two magazines ship with the Shield Plus, one a flush-fit 10 rounder, and the other a 13-round mag with an extended baseplate for added purchase.
Can you put a red dot on a S&W M&P Shield? ›We have received many questions regarding the M&P Shield and if it works with the Outerimpact M&P MRA (Modular Red Dot Adapter). The answer is, Yes!!!
What is the oldest magazine still in circulation? ›The oldest consumer magazine still in print is The Scots Magazine, which was first published in 1739, though multiple changes in ownership and gaps in publication totalling over 90 years weaken that claim.
Why are magazines dying? ›The U.S. consumer magazine industry shrunk by more than 20% in the past five years, due largely to print advertising declines, per PwC data. But the rate of decline is expected to slow slightly in the next five years, thanks to new efforts from online media companies to acquire and digitize traditional print brands.
Do people still read magazines 2022? ›Print Magazine Readership
More adults reported reading physical/printed magazines (68.5%) than print newspapers (61.6%), but they tend to read them slightly less frequently. About 3 in 10 adults reported reading magazines on a weekly basis, including 1 in 12 (8.4%) who do so daily.
With that being said, the Shield Plus has upped the capacity from 7 and 8 round magazines to 10 and 13 round magazines. With one in the chamber, the extended magazine in the Shield Plus doubles the capacity of the original and 2.0 Shield platforms.
Is the Smith and Wesson shield a good carry gun? ›A wide range of pocket-sized pistols are available today for civilian purchase, but none quite get it right like the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. This little bodyguard is one of the best concealed carry guns on the market--and here's why.
Why is M&P Shield so popular? ›
The M&P Shield 2.0 has all the features of a full-sized pistol in a package small enough for concealed carry. Smith & Wesson also offers the pistol in a wide variety of configurations, from caliber to ergonomics and aiming devices, allowing prospective buyers to pick the version that's right for them.
What is the best concealed carry for M&P Shield 9mm? ›The M&P Shield 45 is a compact 9mm pistol that is ideal for concealed carry. It packs all the power of a full-sized 9mm pistol in a slim and easy-to-handle frame. Due to its size, the 45 is very easy to conceal, and having a great holster to pair with the gun helps you ensure the pistol is secure.
What is the best caliber for personal protection? ›The 9mm Luger loaded with hollow point projectiles offers a great balance of power, penetration, capacity, and concealability in an easy-to-shoot package. While the . 45 ACP fan club will probably send hate mail, we have to name the 9mm Luger the best caliber for self-defense available to modern shooters.
Can you pocket carry a shield plus? ›The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus is just a big gun to carry inside your pocket.
Why is the Shield Plus so cheap? ›The Shield Plus, our most popular concealed carry series, will undergo a price reposition. We're absorbing costs and passing along a lower price to help carry some of the burden because we don't want people to have to compromise when it comes to quality and personal security.
What is the trigger pull weight on a M&P Shield Plus? ›By the way, according to my standard RCBS trigger pull scale, the M&P9 Shield Plus's trigger pull averaged 5 pounds, 8 ounces.
What magazine fits the Shield Plus? ›...
SPECIFICATIONS.

The M&P9 Compact ships with two 15-round magazines and two grip extension sleeves designed to slip over big-stick 17-round magazines. Original M&P magazines fit the new M&P 2.0, so there are a lot of M&P magazines out there that will fit the new Compact.
Do all ar use same magazine? ›Are All AR-15 Magazines Compatible? With very few exceptions, all AR-15 magazines that are designed for . 223 or 5.56 rounds of ammunition are interchangeable so long as you are using a lower receiver that is within mil-spec standards.
What is the difference between M&P 2.0 and M&P Shield? ›The Smith and Wesson shield holds only seven-round and it's a single stack firearm. So obviously it's going to be a lot smaller than the M&P 2.0 compact. If you look at the height of the gun, it's roughly a half-inch shorter. It's also around six ounces lighter.
Is there a recall on M&P Shield? ›
With a loaded magazine in the firearm and the grip safety depressed, releasing the slide (by pulling it back, or releasing the slide stop), may ignite the round as the slide closes, without engaging the trigger.
